JOHN BOYCE
The Adviser - John is the newest recruit to Hayburn Rock Associates' ever expanding team. Before being welcomed to Hayburn Rock Associates in January 2009, John spent 13 years at Lloyds TSB Bank followed by 7 years at St James' Place Wealth Management.
With the Financial Planning Certificate (FPC), Mortgage Advice Qualification (MAQ) and many years experience under his belt, John specialises in Investment/Wealth Management and Retirement Planning.
The Person - For the love of the beautiful game, John follows Aston Villa and plays for a local side. John regularly holidays with his wife and 3 young children. This gives him the opportunity to spend valuable time with his family and indulge in his other passion - good food and fine wine. Golf is often a hot topic in the office and John enjoys playing golf.....or at least trying to!
Did you know that...? It is feasible that John's grandfathers fought against each other in the same war.
DARYL CHANCE
The Adviser - Daryl's career has aways centred around the Financial Services Industry. With spells at Britannic Insurance, The Financial Advisory Bureau, 10 years at Pearl Assurance and then joining Hayburn Rock Associates in November 1999.
Daryl is FPC, Cemap and Equity Release qualified and offers advice in all areas of financial planning including mortgages, equity release, investments and pensions. He is currently studying towards a further qualification - QCA Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning.
The Person - In 2006 Daryl welcomed a new addition to the Chance household - a pedigree Shih Tzu called Toby! Daryl now enjoys long walks with Toby and even more so if it takes him past a Batham's pub where he can enjoy a good pint. Daryl likes playing golf and watching his son play for Stourbridge Rugby Club's first team. Daryl's vice is playing poker on the internet....but not for 'real' money!
Did you know that...? Daryl once had trials with West Bromwich Albion FC.
PHILIPPA CLAYBURN
The Adviser - Philippa obtained 9 O Levels, 3 A Levels and studied Japanese at University before joining the Financial Services Industry in 1991. FPC and CeMap qualified, Philippa worked as Broker Consultant for Scottish Provident. Impassioned by Critical Illness Cover, Philippa was top consultant for the western region. Philippa went on to work for Old Mutual and Black Horse Life, before joining Hayburn Rock Associates as an Independent Financial Adviser in October 1997.
Philippa continues to specialise in Critical Illness Cover. However her area of expertise has now diversified into mortgages, investment and retirement planning as well as purchasing property in Cyprus.
The Person - Philippa's spare time centres around keeping fish and rescuing chickens. Over the years Philippa has kept goldfish, Subinkin, Orfe and Koi and she currently has 5 chickens running around her garden. Philippa's interest in property spills over into her personal life and she is now a dab hand at property investment; both here and abroad.
Did you know that...? Philippa is qualified to sail a yacht and drive a ski boat.
JOHN CONNOR
The Adviser - John's career has taken him from BT, Pearl Assurance, Birmingham Midshires, Royal Sun Alliance to finally joining the team at Hayburn Rock Associates in October 2002. Over the years John has attained the Financial Planning Certificate and CeMap qualification and now specialises particularly in the areas of pensions and retirement planning.
With this in mind, John is now working towards his next financial services qualification - QCA Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning; focusing in particular on Pension Advice.
The Person - John has two main passions; playing guitar and rallying and he is starting to enjoy much success in both areas. With his teenage son, John keeps the streets of Halesowen awake with renditions of rock anthems on his electric guitar. Weekends are mostly spent rallying competitively at different championships around the country.
Did you know that...? John and his driver are British Rally Challenge Champions 2009.
LUCY DANIEL
The Adviser - After obtaining a BA (Hons) in Drama and treading the boards for a few years, Lucy decided it was time for a career change and a 'sensible' job; joining Hayburn Rock Associates in April 2004. Lucy completed the Certificate in Mortgage Advice, Insurance and Equity Release qualification and specialises in mortgages and related life insurance.
Alongside this Lucy is heavily involved in company compliance and T&C procedures and has now obtained the IFS certificate in Supervising in a Regulated Environment.
The Person - Lucy attends her local gym taking part in Body Jam classes. She enjoys socialising and being amongst her friends and can often be found in the bars and restaurants around Wollaston enjoying a glass of wine and a meal. After a few too many glasses of wine Lucy's theatrical side explodes on the Karaoke. Alanis Morrisette eat your heart out!
Did you know that...? Lucy was Hayburn Rock Associates' first 'Home Grown' adviser.
PATRICK DUNNE
The Advsier - Patrick started in the Financial Services Industry with Abbey Life in 1992 and then went on to spend 4 years with St James's Place Wealth Management, attaining the Financial Planning Certificate (FPC) and CeMap qualifications. Joining Hayburn Rock Associates in May 2005, Patrick decided to focus on mortgages and associated insurance products.
Patrick has since gone on to qualify in Equity Release and Lifetime Care and his speciality has now extended to include financial long term care for the elderly. He continues to work towards QCA Level 4 CII Diploma in Financial Planning.
The Person - Patrick's leisure interests include gardening and all sports; especially rugby and cricket. Patrick also enjoys dancing and he is a force to be reckoned with at the christmas party!
Did you know that...? Patrick designed and custom-made his own narrow boat. Although he openly admits that, without a permanent mooring, gardening is rather tricky!
TONY HUGHES
The Adviser - Tony Hughes obtained a BA (Hons) degree from London University. Graduating in 1993, Tony joined a corporate estate agency where he gained many years experience in the property market as well as training within the Financial Services Industry. FPC and CeMap qualified Tony joined Hayburn Rock Associates in 2002.
Tony specialises in mortgages and associated protection products and recently added Equity Release to this list.
The Person - Tony's leisure interests include rowing, golf and going to the cinema. Tony also enjoys long weekends in London with his wife, catching a show in the West End followed by a meal at one of London's many fine restaurants.
Did you know that...? Tony was once an alter boy! 'Amen' to that!
IAN MORTON
The Adviser - Ian's financial services career began at Lloyds TSB in 1989 where he achieved his Financial Planning Certificate and CeMap qualifications. After 15 years service, Ian joined Hayburn Rock Associates in October 2004 as an Independent Financial Adviser.
Ian specialises in retirement planning and investments. He is currently working towards QCA Level 4 CII Diploma in Financial Planning.
The Person - Ian is sports mad, especially football and watching Aston Villa! Ian is arguably the most accomplished golfer at Hayburn Rock Associates and regularly plays different courses both here and in Ireland.
Did you know that...? Ian is a 2010 Trilby Golf Tour Entrant.
KASHMIR SINGH
The Adviser - Kash joined a corporate estate agency in 1992 and worked his way from Trainee Negotiator to Branch Manager in 1995. Wishing to diversify, Kash switched to Mortgage Manager, acquiring his CeMap qualifications. In 2003 Kash joined Hayburn Rock Associates specialising in Mortgage Advice and associated protection policies.
The Person - Kash recently became the very proud Dad to son Myles and most of his time is spent enjoying quality time with his wife and son. Kash also likes to spend time with his friends; socialising in local bars and restaurants.
Did you know that? Kash can converse in Punjabi and Urdu.
STEVE WOOTTON
The Adviser - Steve began his career in 1987 working for National Westminster Bank Plc. After 7 years he moved on to become a Financial Consultant at Prudential Corporation but became increasingly frustrated at the 'tied ' status. Wishing to offer more to his clients, Steve joined Hayburn Rock Associates in 1999 and hasn't looked back.
Over the years Steve has worked hard to obtain a number of qualifications; CeMap, Certificate in Financial Planning and now holds the acclaimed 'Chartered Financial Planner' title. Steve offers holistic financial planning including pensions, investments, equity release and mortgages.
The Person - Steve enjoys sports and outdoor activities including cycling, jogging and walking. Steve often spends walking weekends away with his friends; enjoying British scenery by day and the hospitality of a local pub at night. Steve also manages to fit in quality time with his wife and young family and they very much like to escape to their holiday home in south west France.
Did you know that...? Steve was the first Adviser at Hayburn Rock Associates to obtain 'Chartered Financial Planner' status.
